Next steps

What steps I am going to take.
  1. I'm going for 20 year refinacings on my house.
  2. I'm going for the disability.
  3. I will be resigning after I have exhaused my last 3 weeks of benefits.

This may not sound like I have come upon any great action plan, but it has been very difficult for me. I have peace on at least I'm doing what I think is right.

The reason for the 20 year refinacing is to pay off my debts, so I'll only have a couple of payments to worry about on my fixed income.

I just am no longer able to handle the job due to the stress and all my medical problems. Stress has caused flare up of all my medical issues. With the severe depression, PTSD, UCTD, Chronic Fatique, Asthma, HTN, and kidney problems ,I just can no longer keep working. The Disability will be a cut in pay, but the job has been draining every bit energy I had. I should be able to live on my 401K until the disability goes through.

I believe I will be able to get better and help others by following this plan. I taking a big step of faith and believing I doing what is best for me and what God wants me to do. I HAVE SOME PEACE NOW!

I am glad you have some options...I do have one suggestion. Don't resign yet and don't live off your 401k...apply for state disability while you wait on the SSDI. You can collect state disability for up to a year and your GP can give you the form, and then fill out his part. That way you have your 401k as a cusion. Once you get the state disability rolling in, THEN resign. If you need help with the SSDI process, I am on that and was approved on the first go around, which is unusual...I would be happy to help you as best as I can online.

Fallen, if we lived in a reasonable state, Wanda could do that.

However, in Oklahoma, the only way to get State disability is to be ON SSDI or SSI.

My state disability check is a whole $11.
My husbands is $23.
The maximum in oklahoma is $65.

our state's taking care of those who are sick ... is pitiful.

sorry for answering for WW ..but she's on a trip out of town. She went with another friend of hers to have fun for the weekend.

:D

My only hope is she's back in time for church on Sunday!

I also have referred her to a very good social security attorney in town if she gets turned down the first round or two.
He is very good, got me mine, and my mom hers with a post polio diagnosis ... in 1994, when it wasn't being given through SS ...and also he helped another friend of mine get it8 years ago and she has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome . ... very hard to get SSDI with CFS.

Hopefully, she'll never have to call him ... hopefully SS will see the truth the first time with her.

Fallen I am impressed that you got the disability the first try. I have never heard of anyone doing that!

I just filed no lawyer yet.

I wish you all the best and far less stress! I too, have many serious health problems, which I believe were caused by the extreme immune system stress of systematic physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, for many years on end.

I was impoverished and trying to keep a job with a chronic, debilitating intestinal disease.

You deserve the break and the relief from the stress. Finding ways to relieve stress is the best gift you can give to yourself.

Peace and healing to you!
