Extra Help For The Holidays

My therapist has increased how frequently she is seeing me right now due to the holidays. I will be seeing her weekly right now. She has been so good at helping me through some really rough spots. My psychiatrist had me see my PCP because of my purging. She had lab and ECG done. My ECG was abnormal so they have me set up for cardiology testing, My tremors have not improved, so they are going to send me to a neurologist. I am suppose to be keeping a food journal and be eating 6 small meals a day. That just seems so wrong to me. I almost never eat breakfast and some times no lunch. I am afraid of what is going to happen to my weight. I'm not a small person, so I think this is the wrong thing to do. It looks like I will be spending all my time and money on doctors. Wish me luck over the next couple of months. This is really a hard time for me. It will also be the first year that I will not be able to see my oldest child for the holidays.

God bless you and I am sending prayers your way. The holidays are particularly difficult for lots of people.

Take care of yourself. Glad you're seeing your therapist more often at this time.

Oh I am sending you many healing vibes and happy thoughts! I have heard that small frequent meals can be healthy for ones weight. I try to have healthy little snack/mini meals so I don't eat so much at a meal. Take care dear! I'll be thinking of you! <3

I am sure it will be a struggle to adjust at the beginning. But, it will be for your good dear one. I do hope those tremors do improve for you. Blessings and much hugs...

6 meals ...small, half sized meals ...is correct. 6 full sized meals will backfire. But small meals will keep your metabolism challenged and active ..which will not only be healthier and prevent diabetes ..but it will aide in future weight loss.
Yes, I do know all this ... I hear it every single time I step foot in my endo's office.

What neuro are they sending you to? (I know of most of them in town and their good and bad points)

I hope everything turns out all right. I HATE keeping a food journal. I 'should' be too but don't really do it.
My son has moved into an apartment with friends. Hopefully he will come by for the holidays. I've had trouble adjusting to this change. I don't "do" change.

I am starting to dread the holidays myself. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers this season.

You know, I've heard--way more than once--that eating smaller meals more often actually helps people LOSE weight. I'm like you--I tend to skip breakfast and eat later in the day. But, I know I need protein in the morning, so I can usually choke down a meal bar or a protein drink in the am.

I'm praying for you Wanda and I don't wish you luck - I pray the gentle touch of God free you from the pain of all this. I know - been there - you can do it. And I'm so glad your therapist is increasing her support. In your corner. Sarah

I had neurological symptoms once. It was numbness and tingling on my left chest, shoulder and arm. I was worried that it was a heart problem but it turned out that it was just a couple of irritated joints in my neck sending out their distress calls through the nerves. Scared me, though. Also, maybe you could call and speak with your pharmacist to be sure none of your medications can cause nervous system problems. Many do, and weirdly, the psychiatrists don't seem as up on that as people might expect them to be. Pharmacists have a lot more knowledge about the side effects of psyche drugs than psychiatrists do. I've always thought that odd, but at least knowing where to go for more info is a good thing.

I'm with PK. The 6 meals a day is correct and actually if you stick to the 6 small meals a day you will lose weight. Its proven. I wish you luck and good fortune
