Stablized?

I told my doctor I had been very depressed now for last two weeks. He says " Now we got your mood stablized we can treat the depression." What? Can someone explaine that comment! I'm taking a poll. What is the best anitdepressant out there? I believe I've been on them all. Just trying to see what has worked for other people. The latest drug of choice is Lexapro. Good or bad? What's the vote?

I think he means now that you're not bouncing up and down and all over the place and that your mood has stablized into one place.

Lexapro has a good reputation.

Your psych has a good head on his shoulders, even if it won't stay in place. ;)

I think Dreaming is right about the comment he made. I think he was just saying now that you've got one stable mood it can be treated. :-( but sorry you're having to deal with depression. Thats hard. I dont know much about drugs, so I cant help ya there, but I will keep you in my prayers.

I love the picture! So very cute. I am agreeing with Dreaming and Jade on this one. The doctor was just saying your mood has stablized even if it is a bad mood so now he can treat it. I wish I knew about Lexapro but I have no clue regarding this mood. I sure hope you feel better soon. (((Wanda)))

Thanks for you support. I guess my doctor just caught me off gaurd by saying "depressed" was better than mood swings. We will just have to see about the Lexapro>

Lexapro didn't work for me. It's the derivative of celexa that was released after celexa was pulled off the market. Supposed to have less side effects. I never had an problems with it...it just didn't seem to do anything. There may be a few reasons for that!

Sera,
Lexapro is not working yet for me. You sure have been right about alot of things. I'm just not to sure about my new "t" right now. She kind of a "just get over it" type of person. I guess 2 visists isn't enought to make a conclusion yet.
Thanks for all your help

I dont believe there is a "best" antidepressant. There is a "best for you" antidepressant. Everybody reacts differently to different ones. Its all try it and see which one works for you. Zoloft worked wonders for my daughter and did nothing for me but make me fat. Celexa was great for a friend of mine, but all Lexapro did was make me fat LOLOL, Cymbalta is supposed to be a no no for bi-polars and yet seems like it may just be having some benenfits for me. Time will tell.

Raine,
Don't tell me lexapro is another fat maker! What is with all the anitdepressant and making you fat??

JIP:
Yes, I have to tell my doctor I don't need any help getting depressed. I can do that without much work by myself!

I can't take any of them. They all make me crazy--er--crazier. The only thing I can take is Lithium. Everything else is herbal.
