Ups And Downs In A Day

UPS has really been giving my daughter the run around. They broke the computer I sent her and even with the $500.00  insurance I had on it they are not coming up with the money. I talked to them today and they assured me a resolution by tomorrow at noon. This has been going on for over a month, so we will see if they stand by their word.

I fell yesterday and twisted my left knee. (My better one). Boy am I hurting today. When I feel I knocked over a couch table full of pictures. There was glass everywhere.  I had to pick up 4 of the 6 new frames. My kids pictures are very important to me.

Last year Chris wanted me to put up a star trek Christmas tree. I decided on snowmen last year because I wanted a big tree and didn't have enough decorations of star trek for the big tree. How I wished I had put up what he wanted! I never dreamed it would be his last Christmas. As hard as it is going to be I'm putting up a three foot star trek tree this year in his honor.

I am really sad today! It is just getting very close to the Holidays and I'm missing my babies. I wonder what Christmas is like in heaven?

On the brighter side I've been talking to Alice today. I always love to hear her voice. We must look for good in each day and that is what I'm trying to do. I just mailed Alice four of Chris' video games. I used the post office this time.

It's getting cold at  night. I hate that I have to run my furnace. I have it set at 65 degrees, so I really bundle up in my blanket.  Being bundled up somehow makes me feel safer.

I'm setting here looking at a tapestry throw that is over my lap. I admit I was crying about Chris and feeling I've lost everything, including all my friends. God seemed to say to me "See all the dark threads that are woven in the tapestry and yet it is beautiful. Your life has many, many dark threads, but you are a beautiful life to Me and are not alone."

Nightmares

Last night I kept waking up from having nightmare from my childhood. My question is why now? I don't get it. I'm very tired and weak today. More than likely from all the running to doctors, blood bank, and therapy yesterday. My total knee replacement is going to be on December 3, 2010. This should help with the pain at least in the right knee. He saying I should be in the hospital for about 3 days, then a rehab center for about a week, driving in about 2-3 weeks. That is getting very close to Christmas. I pulled my small 3 foot Christmas tree out of my storage shed. I threw away two six foot trees earlier, because they were just too hard for me to put up. Chris always helped me put up the tree. It's hard to believe he won't be here for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I miss him so much! I'm still hoping Alice will get to come, but it doesn't look very promising. Compassionate Friends suggest trying to set up new Holiday traditions after the death of a child. We will see how that goes.

Stressed!!!!

Things are not looking good right now. I doubt if Alice is going to make it down for Christmas. My knee is far worst than they thought. There is a spur that is tearing through the muscle around the knee. They say we need it done ASAP (total replacement of the knee). My lawyer just gave me a court date that I don't think I'll be walking much by,let alone driving. Of course I haven't heard back form the lawyer. I want this year over!!!!! I'm in so much pain I am going to take a pain pill and try to relax. Maybe if I get some more news tomorrow it will be better.

Woke Up In A Cold Sweat.

I woke up in a cold sweat, shaking and trembling all over. I put on some music to relax myself and all it did was make me cry and feel so much alone. The support  group I'm going to, say that just thinking about the upcoming Holidays, Birthdays and Date of Death is sometimes harder then the day itself.. I really hope so. If Alice can come for Christmas we will have a great time. I wasn't going to put up a tree or anything, but if she is coming I'm going to put up a small tree.

Later today I'm talking to my orthopedic surgeon. about getting my right knee replacement done before the end of the year, because My insurance is  going to be a lot worst after the first of the year. I'm hoping it will cover a rehab center for a week, since I live alone. It would be a great way to spend Thanksgiving day.

I also see my therapist after my orthopedic appointment. Sometimes I think we are just beating a dead horse there. She told me I needed to "forgive" my ex husband. I just don't think about him unless he is brought up in therapy. After what Alice told me what he had done to her,I just glad I'm not in prison. I was an idiot for letting him abuse me, but no one hurts  my babies!
I am going to try and get some sleep now. Fingers crossed.

Things Are Never The Same Again

Things are never the same after you lose a child. Everything that was theirs now has a special meaning. You find yourself just setting in their rooms with a hurt that is so unbelievable. You hold thing and sniff them in hopes to make them feel closer.

I'm seeing an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow.I'm hoping he will do the surgery so I'll be in rehab on Thanksgiving. I have had offers to go places, but my heart is just not in it. Even after the divorce I always made a big to do over the holidays. I wanted my children to have those memories to last them a life time. With my daughter half way across country and my son gone  I know it's going to be rough this year.

Everyday things have changed. I used to enjoy cooking. I never cook now. I frequently forget to eat. It like it almost makes me choke to swallow food. I'm at a decent weight now, but have been warned I shouldn't lose more. My blood work shows signs of starvation. Funny now I just want to be skinny.

I hold on to the belief that God cares for me, even if I don't understand why my life has been so difficult. It may sound like I'm complaining, but this is a safe place to let go of some of the pain.

I'm really hoping between my daughter and myself we can find enough money to get her here for Christmas. I can't think of anything that I want more. "Stuff" means less and less. Family and friends are what are really important.

Natalie Grant-Held-lyrics video

I'm So Excited!

My daughter is thinking about trying to rent a car and come down and visit for Christmas! I was thinking if we forgo Christmas presents we might be able to pool enough money together for her to come. That would be better than any present in the world. I have an extra bedroom now, so there would be a place for her and Ron to sleep. I'm just so excited about the thought of seeing her for the holidays I can hardly stand it! I'm just setting here crying like a baby. So much has gone wrong this year I'm scared to death to get my hopes up too high. She lives half way across country so it is a real big deal. I was so not looking forward to Christmas this year. It would be the greatest gift I could wish for!!!!!!!!!!!!

They Understand!

I went  to my first "Compassionate Friends" group tonight and I have finally found a group of people who knew where I'm coming from. This is a group of people that have lost a child or grandchild of any age. Needless to say many of the stories ripped my heart out. There were people at the group that had lost there child anywhere from 4 months to 20 + years.  I asked a question stating "I say I believe in God,' but could not understand why as I prayed for Chris' life he was taken from me anyway. I expressed that I was angry that God did not answer my prayers, when I know He has answered others.  I was definitely not the only one that struggled with this. Some people said it may take years to reconcile the issue, but God  would be patient and not angry at me. This did not mean my faith wasn't great enough and it wasn't because of me that Chris had died. They reassured me that I was still very early in my recover and I was not strange because I would sometimes get lost in my own city. They talked about how losing a child is different than any other type of loss you can have. I could see how hard on myself I have been. This healing is a slow process and you will NEVER be the same again. I found comfort in knowing that I'm not just some "nut job".
Next month they are going to have a candle light service for the children. They will show a slide show of all the children that have been loss and we can invite a friend. I will see if my sister in law will come to help me honor my beloved Chris. I am very glad I found this group. It is a national group and I highly recommend it to anyone that has lost a child.

PS. I thought this post was lost, because it was what I was working on when my computer bit the dust.

Wrotten Day

The wrotten day started yesterday, when my lap top computer died. Chris had a nice monitor, but I had shipped the tower to his sister Alice. That in it's self is another long story. Anyway today I was crying and going crazy without a computer. I found a tower at a very reasonable price at a whole sale computer store. I know Alice was ready to kill me, because I kept calling her and asking her how to set up this thing. It is so much slower than my other one and I have lost all my pictures and stuff from my hard drive on the lap top. Alice thinks she can retieve the information. I really hope so because it has my last several years of taxes on it.  She lives so far away it cost a fourtune to ship to her. I'm going to check out that "flat rate" postal shipping and see what it cost. This thing is slower than Christmas for a child!

Chris always had the best computer stuff and I would get his "left overs". Believe me when I say his left overs where a lot faster than this. I am thankful I have something to work on. Whem I'm no so stressed out I got to try to connect the printer. I didn' have any problems when I attached it to my laptop. I really am not a patient person. I'll try to "creep" around to some blogs. Later!

Happy Happy Happy

I'm most likely happy for all of the wrong reason, but now I know why my therapist has been on my case. I've been seeing her for two years now and I have dropped SIX sizes in my clothes.  I have dropped four sizes since February of this year.

I founds some great deals at Good Will. They were having there half off sale on blouses and slacks. I was able to pick up four tops and two pair of slacks for $15.00. Can you believe that. My feet are doing my happy dance. Now my clothes won't be just hanging off me. Maybe if I lose another size or two I might even take a picture of myself. Pictures is something I normally don't do.

I know I'll obess even more with my weight, but for once in my life I would like to be called skinny!

Thank You To All Our Veterans!

Thank you is not enough to say to all the  veterans that have given so much!  I appreciate each and everyone of you! A special thanks to my sister in law and my best friend's son and grandson. Her grandson is only 18 and proudly serving his country today!

Nothing Fits

I lost quite a bit of weight after Chris died. As the weather has been cooling off I noticed I did not have a single winter top and only two pair of blue jeans. Money is always tight when you live on disability, but with the car repairs it just about wiped me out. I found myself another pair of nice jeans for $6.99 and a real pretty pink three quarter length selves sweater for $4.99.  I like the bright color tops, even though I'm no spring chicken. I also love bargains. I will check out some consignment stores tomorrow, since there are suppose to be some "great sales". I think I need at least 2 more tops and maybe one pair of dress slacks. I still find myself trying on clothes that are really big and baggy. I guess in time that will change.

I am really believing this Lupus flare up is really trying to hold on. The steroids are not helping the pain at all. I may be trying to push it too much. My friend in OK City said she was having the first flare up in two years and she also know someone else that is having a flare. Weather changes and stress are most likely why I am having the  problem..

Tomorrow I going to a support group called Compassionate Friends. It is for the parents of those that  have lost a child regardless of the age of the child. I'm a little nervous because I'm sure I will cry. I think I need to know what is "normal" after losing a child. I get upset at myself because I still cry so often about losing Chris.  I also find  that I worry so much about Alice now.I have always been very close to my children, but I don't want to "smother" Alice' I just really love my children.  I think I'm still in shock to some degree. I know someday Alice, Chris and I are all going to be together again at Jesus' feet.

Wow

With all the help form my blogging friends I can finally post on people blogs with Word Verification!!!  Big smile. It looks like it is taking my comments anyway. It's a little late in the day for a good morning, but I just loved the expressions on their  faces.

I have a rough several days with my lupus and just not feeling well.  I still hurt all over, but I'm forcing myself to do at least one or two things a day. I took some food to a food bank, took some stuff to Good Will, and went to my primary care doctor. I found I had a little bite of blockage in the veins in my neck(report from my hospital stay), so she started me on some cholesterol medicine. I just don't get how my lipids can be elevated with no more than I eat.

I really did not figure I could get my computer to act right, but I want to thank everyone for their suggestions  (especially Mike). To blog I have to use . Internet Explorer to get  my blogger to work, Chris had always told me never to use it, because you had a greater chance of getting a virus. I will continue to us  Fire Fox for everything else.

Computer Problems

I'm having so many computer problems I could scream. I keep losing stuff. I've lost my icons on my posting bar, but have found a work around for that. I lost my top tool bar, but can press alt and get it back for a short period of time then it disappears again. I still can't post on anyone page with word verification, no mater how many time I hit the stupid bar. My computer helps keep me semi sane. I enjoy talking with my blogging friends and when I can't I really get stressed out. I sure hope it doesn't mean my computer is going out. I would be so lost.  I guess since I can't post on several blogs I will see whats on TV and finish the laundry. Fun?  Right!

I'm Sorry

I just want to say I have visited several blogs today and I just can not leave comments. I have tried every suggestion I been given and none of them have worked. If you have word verification on your blog I can not respond until the blogger help desk gets back to me. Again I am so sorry and wish I could comment!

I Am Really Down Today

Coming off my mania and all the bad news I got yesterday has really effected my depression. I don't know if others become as afraid of there own self like I do or not. I literally don't trust myself when I'm this depressed. The desire to hurt myself are over whelming. I'm trying to control my dark thoughts, but they seem to be controling me. I feel I should be able to do a better job than I'm doing. I know most people don't think of  cutting themself with razor blade, yet that is the least harmful thing that is pounding in my brain. Some of you might be thinking,"Well you say you love Jesus". I do. I believe God can heal, but He does not alway chose to. I know some of you think I'm just lacking faith. I truely don't believe that.

For this moment the above picture shows when I'm going to give up.   I am determined not to let this illness kill me!

I Can't Comment On Several Blogs

I can't comment on any blog with "Word Verification" because the word does not show up.  Is anyone else having this problem or know what I can to work around it? It is really making me angry!

Will This Day Ever End?

To begin with my alarm clock did not go off and I had an early morning appointment with my psychiatrist. I could barely get out of bed because my lupus is in a full blown flare. I hurried as quickly as I could to get ready. I must admit my makeup sure looked like a "rush job." The pharmacy was on the way and I had to pick up my predisone for the lupus. I went to the drive up pharmacy window and my window stuck in the down position. It would NOT go back up no matter what I tried. I was freezing in spite of the cup of coffee that was in hand. I knew I was "crashing" from my recent mania. My psychiatrist could tell I was crashing also, so he increased my Abilify. He also told me that the predisone could cause additional mood problems. Just what I need, but this was not a surprise to me.

My sister in law and I were suppose to go to the SPCA today. I could not leave my window stuck in the down position, so I called her and we met at repair shop. I figured the repair would be about $50.00. The surprise is to come later!

We went on to the SPCA and worked about 2.5 hours. One of the cats must have been having a bad day too, because she bite me. I received a call for the shop and they had found several things that needed to be fixed. It took about 0.5% of my monthly check. I just broke down in tears. Sally said she would help me pay some of the bill because I had no idea how I was going to make.

When we went to pick up the car there was an additional $500.00 of repairs that need done "soon". I opted out not to do them at the time because I was broke. I figured I had a few months by what I was told. I made it about 2/3 of the way home when smoke started pouring out of my car. Ironically this happen next to the cemetery Chris' nitch is in.

I was beyond hysterical when I called my sister in law. She told me to call the garage that had fixed the car to come out and check what was going on. She also came to me to take me back to the shop. I went inside the building Chris' nitch was at and poured my heart out to Chris. I know that was a dumb thing, but I told him how much I wish I could just join him.

The man from the garage arrived and looked at the car. The fuel pump had caused the radiator to "crack" and blow off the hose. Sallie arrived to hear the news. The car was unable to be driven. Fortunately I had AAA to have the car towed back to the shop. I was crying and shaking like a baby. Sallie drove me to the shop and loaned me the $500.00 to have the car fixed. There is still about $300.00 of repairs that need to be done in the next few months.I then had to wait an addition 2 hours while the car was being repaired. My pain pill had worn off a long time ago, so I could barely walk.

I am so thankful that Sallie was there to help me. If this had happen on Monday I would have been taking her to back surgery. As bad and costly as today has been, it would have been much worst for this to happen on Monday. I am so glad this day is over. Also the garage did not charge labor on replacing the radiator , which saved about $150.00.

On top of everything else I have not been able to post on a several of my blogging friend sites, because the "verification" of words. They were not present to type in. Also my icon to add a picture is missing. Is anyone else had trouble with blogger today or is it just me? I would write it it would let me!!!!!!! I'll try to respond again tomorrow.

After that my computer locked up and I had to call Alice for some help. She talked me through it!!!

Oh No

On top of being manic, I'm trying to eat and it keeps coming back up. I just can't seem to swallow my food today. I see my psychiatrist tomorrow and am worried he will increase my Depakote. Each time he dose that I have a real bad depressive reaction. My rheumatogist put me on a steroid today because of a Lupus flare up. That also has me concerned because it can really mess with your moods and cause weight gain. I'm already fighting a battle not to gain any weight with my new antidepressant.

I got bad news a few weeks ago the my Medicare Advantage plan that I'm on is be cancelled as of January 1, 2011. I had a meeting with someone from Humma to see what type of supplements they had for Medicare. The plan that was a reasonably priced had NONE of my current doctors on it. I also got a list from the Secure Horizons and again none of my doctor are on it. The only plan that is available that I can keep my current doctors is Humma "Golden Plan". It a golden plan for a reason, you have to have a lot of gold to afford it. It is going to cost me $70.00 more a month. That might sound like a lot, but when you are on a fixed income it's a ton. I'm not comfortable changing all my doctors, so I might have to suck it up a go with that plan anyway. I really don't know what I'm going to have to cut from my budget. What a pain.

I really need to get some sleep tonight. I have notice that a lot of the blogger I follow haven't been posting in the last couple of day. I hope everything is going OK and it is just that they have been too busy to blog. I'm going to try some clear liquids and see if that will stay down. Hot tea sounds good. Maybe I'll curl up with a hot cup of tea.

Alice's amazing journey is on my side bar if you are interested in reading the struggles of a trans gender child.

Fun We Had Together

Wow I am figuring out how to use my scanner, but now I've got to buy some more ink! Karate is something Chris and I used enjoy doing together. As you can see by the pictures who was better. :) Now that I'm beginning to figure things out maybe I can post a little more about myself and family. I don't have the knees anymore to do Karate, but I did work my way up to a blue belt which I am proud of myself for doing. I was so proud the first time I broke a board. Chris was able to do two boards at the same time. I never had the natural talent that Chris did. He loved to spar and I preferred the forms. I still treasure our certificates of honor that we both received. It sure is good to start remembering the good times we had together. For all you healthy active people out there,Karate is great exercise and a lot of fun! In the picture I placed 2nd in my age group at the regional tournament (not bad for an old lady) and Chris placed 1rst in his age group. He had several trophies for 1rst and 2nd place . You can't tell I am proud of him, can you? lol

Bad Sign

Two nights in a row with less than three hours sleep. Not good! I also went shopping all day after church yesterday. I glad to say I didn't spend too much. I've destroyed all my charge card since they were such a source for trouble for me. I don't think I'm going to say anything to my psychiatrist because he will try to over medicate me. I'm feeling so much less depressed the last two days. I know I'm a little manic, but I think I can control it without increasing my drugs. Well maybe I'll get the house cleaned up today, if the pain don't get to me first.

By the way I tried scanning some pictures yesterday on my scanner and they came out upside down and sideways. The computer would allow me to rotate them, but it wouldn't let me save the changes. Also when I try to add the picture to the blog I get an error, "Invalid format or corrupt file." Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? The photo are in a file called scanned. I tried to move them to my picture folder and that didn't work either. I am able to look at the photos and even print them. I just can not pull them up for my blog.

Try To Figure

Just trying to figure life out one day at a time!

Love Is Healing!

It was after 3 AM when my panic attack was under enough control that I could finally fall asleep. I woke up again at 6 AM s in severe pain. I took two Lortab and finally dozed back to sleep until 8 AM. I was emotionally depleted and in desperate need of feeling like someone cared. I decided I would go to church and very glad I did. The sermon was on Love. Those of you that follow my blog know how much I feel this is the only way to heal. Giving and receiving love is so important. I don't know if I just looked like I needed to be loved today or what, but I felt so much love today I was just sobbing with a peace I haven't felt in awhile. Loving each other is what this world needs to be about. My blog was filled with those expressing their love and concern for me. You just don't know how much my friends both in the "cbyer world" and "real world" have kept me going this year. As long as I continue to breath I will try to love people no matter if they may not be considered the "norm" or "different" because I am excepted with all my flaws and differences.

Over Whelming Fear

I don't know why this happen, but some nights I am filled with over whelming fear and anxiety. I am trying to talk myself down, but I am having a very difficult time doing it. I can't stand to be in my bed right now. I just feel total panic. I have taken my anxiety medicine but thus far it has not helped. I have been on my own for a very long time.I don't understand why I have these episodes. It hurts to breath.I feel like a small child that is going to be hurt. It's to late to call anybody. Maybe if I turn on the TV the noise will help. I'm literally afraid to walk from one room to another. I've checked all the door locks. There is no logical reason for me to be doing this. I'm going to try and calm myself down. I hate this!

Boo

My kids used to love Halloween. I had so much fun making them costumes. We also used to have contest at work and my department would almost always win. We would do themes like the Wizard of Oz and other things. My kids favorite costume was when I had them dressed as aliens. They were so cute! I love to see the little kids all dressed up. The little princess, animals, and ghosts. I need to head out to the dollar store to pick up a few more treats before this evening. The newspaper said tonight would be trick or treat in our town. Someone had a great idea about giving out crayons. I'm going to see if I can find some small boxes at a reasonable price. I also think I going to look at my photo albums and remember how happy my children were when they were small. Happy kids is such a wonderful sight and a source of joy in my heart.

I Don't Know If I Can Do It

Sometimes I just don't know if I can do it. I have chronic physical pain. It hurts to move, to sit, to stand, or even to be touched. My rheumatologist gives me as many pain pills as I need a month, but I hate taking them all the time. I'm also on other medicine for the disorder, but it is a chronic autoimmune disease, so basically you have to just live with it.

On top of this is the depression which I lived with since I was 12 years old. I do think the Abilify maybe helping. I have only been on it for a couple of weeks, but it might just be the "drug of choice" for me. The only problem is the copay for it is $64.00 and that is quite a bit when you take as many medications as I do.(Plus I'm on a fixed income-disability) I am afraid of my own thoughts. I have a fear that I will someday die at my own hand, because the emotional and physical pain is so bad. Most of the time I think I do a "fair job" of controlling my impulses. I guess being bipolar doesn't help much. I believe if I would just die I would go to heaven, but for some reason I am still alive. Maybe the reason I'm still alive is for my precious daughter. She lives so far away from me, but we have a great relationship. We talk to each other almost everyday. She has been though so much in her life I wish I had a magic wand to take way all her pain. I would make the world right. Hate would be gone. No abuse. I still believe love is the greatest healer.

I am tired all the time. Simple things like cleaning my house has to be done in small little steps and rest between "jobs". I may wake up with such good intentions, but I am still trying. I look at people that are much older than myself and I can not even begin to keep up with them. Maybe someday this will all make sense or maybe it just won't matter. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

It's A Myth

It is a very big myth if you think you get any rest in the hospital! I am so exhausted I don't know which end is up. My two cat had a hey day in the house while I was gone. My floor lamp was knocked over, there was cat hair every where, and I just know they did all the things they are not suppose to do since I was here to tell them NO! Well I'm just going to work on things slowly and do what I feel like and rest in between. I got the living room floor vacuumed, started a load of laundry, and cleaned the litter boxes. Time for a break so I'm trying to catch up on my emails and blogging. I guess I should try to eat something. It seems my blood sugars run on the low side. We have a very strong history of diabetic in my family and I sure don't need to add anymore health issues to my problems. I really miss reading everyone blog when I'm away. Looking forward to catching up on what's going on in everybody's life.

Just Got Out Of The Hospital

I had a couple of"Black Out Spells" where I lost vision in both of my eyes. I just got out of the hospital tonight. My Cat Scan and MRI of the brain looked good. No strokes or anything. They didn't have the heart studies back yet, but they let me go anyway. They believe it could have been a combination of causes. Ocular Migraine or my heart rate dropping too low. When I was in the hospital my heart rate dropped several times in the upper 30's to the lower 40's. My BP would also drop at this time to the 80/40. They took me off one of my medications and said I should be fine. I don't have a lot of faith in doctors anymore, but they let me go home with a pulse in the 40's. I do have a history of migraines, but have never totally lost my vision before. I guess we will just go on and hope for the best. I am still very tired and weak, but maybe being off that medicine will help in a couple of days.

Severe Pain Today

I'm in severe pain today. I had to go out to get some supplies and I didn't think I was going to make it home. My vision began to blur and I could barely see. I think I will spend most of the day resting since every little movement causes severe pain.

Rain

Rain coming down and cool breezes blowing. The sound of the rain on my mobile home roof is soothing. Curled up in a blanket. My cat at my feet. Memories fill my head today. Time is going by so quickly right now. I need the day to take time and just breath.

Someone Took The Time To Care

For some reason I felt the need to share this. It might be "Triggering" and a bit graphic , so please take care of yourself first. I guess I'll just start at the beginning. At they very young age of 4, my mother was on her 3rd marriage. She chose to leave her first three children with my Grandmother. My mother chose this man over her own children. I am grateful to this day for Grandmother. She was a very "religious" person. I believe her faith was genuine, but far too controlled by the fear of "sinning". I remember so many things that she consider sin. You had to wear only dresses if you were a girl. You never cut your hair. Dancing was definitely of the devil. Just too many rules and no no's and very little joy. I believe she tried to do her best however.

My stepfather was a cruel, mean, alcoholic, and perverted. Part of the time my mom would take me over to her house and he would touch me in ways that were very inappropriate. I was so young when this started( 4-5 years old). It seemed I was scuffled from house to house and no one really wanted me. I so disparately wanted someone to want me. As I grew older my stepfather's "foundling" became more aggressive and he would penetrate me with his hands and other objects.

At a very young age I started having "black outs" or began to dissociate. This would happen while he was hurting me and also at other times when I was in school. In the first grade I often would just walk out of school without remembering why or how I had done it. It was a different time when I was a child. No one questioned the parents, you were just labeled a "bad" child. We were all severally beaten when we were children leaving marks on our bodies that no one ever questioned.

"Very Triggering"
The first very brutal rape I remember I was about 10 years old. I had did something " wrong" (put on a bathing suit and went swimming with some friends) My stepfather and my mother picked me up and beat me severely. I was then taken to their house. He told me he was going to teach me a lesson about "what happens to little sluts". I was tied hand and foot to the bed and repeated raped. I remember there being so much blood. I keep blacking out to endure the pain. After that time when ever I had to go to their house there was the chance I would be rapped again. This continue for several years. He was getting bolder and even would rape me at my Grandmother house in the basement.

My first suicide attempt was when I was about 12 years old. I took a razor and deeply cut my arms. The scars remain today. They took me to a doctor and told them I had fallen and cut myself during the fall. Still no one questioned what was going on. This is also about the time I started having problems with food and the beginnings of my eating disorder.

To make a long story short the abuse continued until I was about 16 years of age. He died of liver disease from his drinking. I had a mental "break down" when I was 18 and I totally blacked out my past. I do believe my inner child died at that time. I moved away from home and in my own mind I was a virgin again.

I next met a man that showed some interest in me. We were soon married and his true nature came out. He was very abusive and would beat on me repeatedly. He was also sexual inappropriate but I did not recognize the signs. I continued to black outs and dissociate. We had two children which later after we were divorced he confessed that he"may have molested" them. He called me at work and told me he and his new wife had been arrested for molesting their daughter. They are both in prison now.

I had been hospitalized several times for depression and my black out at this time. I wasn't attending a church at this time but a co -worker that knew I was having problems suggested I talk with her pastor. I went to see him and did everything possible to make the man dislike me.
Knowing he was pastor I said horrible things about "how if there was a God then he most be totally evil not to care about the children in the world". Pastor Randy didn't correct me or tell how wrong I was to think such things. We met several time before I walked in to his church on a Sunday morning. As time went on I continue to talk with him. He knew I was a single mom and would come over to my house to help fix things and help with the yard work. He really lived what he talked. Finally he left the church to work in another part of the state. We still keep in touch. He even came back in town to help me when Chris died. He did his memorial service too. I do believe Randy saved my life. I miss him so much even though we continue to talk monthly.

I continue to fight depression. I most likely always will. I sometimes have very dark thoughts. I sometime want to die to find some peace. I'm in therapy and on medicine. I am still very wounded. I'm having less dissociation than I used to. I have to admit I did it quite frequently after Chris' death. I'm glad the "caring for others" has never died in me. Believe me when I say I know I'm not totally well. Maybe some of my thinking is all messed up, but that OK too. Maybe someday I will be able to help "the little girl inside me." I do hope so. I am so thankful that someone took time to care about me! That is my goal in life to reach out and care for those who so desperately need someone to care about them.

Broken

Today I'm struggling with so many unresolved feelings. My therapist has had to cancel a couple of visits and I'm surprised about how lost that makes me feel. I'm keeping fairly busy so I don't have time to think too much. I want to become a healthy productive person. It just sometimes seems so far out of my reach. I see people smiling and enjoying life and wonder what it would be like to be joyful. I care for people and animals. I know I am a good person. I just really lack joy and happiness. I read so many stories about survivors that really seem to be happy. I wounder why nothing seems to help my depression. I read any uplifting thing I can get my hands on. I'm out there trying to help others. Am I just too broken to fix? I've seen God answer prayers, so I have to believe He cares. I know that I can make it today, so if it takes just one day at a time,so be it. I chose to continue to try to get better!

PS I just received a call from my daughter that Chris' computer that I sent her arrived in pieces. I am totally devastated! That computer was Chris' life and now it is destroyed by reckless handling of people who just didn't care. I insured the computer, but that doesn't take away the pain of losing his most treasure procession. I feel I have failed him again. I'm a nurse and I couldn't save him when he was dying. I don't think I can take much more pain. I guess I'm a real nut job right? My daughter has contacted UPS to see what they are going to do about it. I tried to talk to them, but I just couldn't stop crying.

I May Not Know

I may not know the reasons that some must die so young. I may not know why some struggle with mental illness daily. I may not know why some must fight with eat disorders. I may not know why there is sexual and child abuse. I may not know why some suffer such physical pain. I may not know why people hurt each other . BUT I do believe there is Someone who cares for each broken heart and we are here to help each other.

It's Been A Rough Day Already

I got up early for a 8AM psychiatrist appointment. He really wants me to go to a day treatment program, but I've got so many other doctors appointments I just can't do it right now. He started me on Abilify today along with my other medicines. He wants me to get several labs checked, so I guess I'll do that Wednesday morning. I packed up Chris's PC to send to his Sister today. She has been having a lot of computer problems. I had a real difficult time being in Chris' room and packing the most treasured item that he owned. I know he would want Alice to have it, but it was very painful for me to do. I miss seeing him at that computer. He did reviews for Nivida, tested soft ware, and enjoyed on line gaming so much. I don't know if this pain is ever going to stop. I miss him so much! I still cry several times a week and he has been gone for over 8 months now. He always called me "little mama". I'll never forget one of the last thing he said to me,"Thank you little mama for always being here for me." When he said that I had no idea he was going to die, but I know how much he loved me from those words. My only advise to parents is love your children everyday for they are a gift from God and you never know when they will be gone.

We All Need Someone To Lean On.

The words to that song have been going through my head a lot today. "We all need someone to lean on." We were never made to have to go through the "rough spots" alone. Often we have developed not so healthy coping mechanism to make it. As we begin to heal it is hard to let go of those coping skills. Yes they were coping skills, but they no longer work. Feeling the pain that is bottled up inside us can be so hard. During these times it can be hard to reach out to someone. Humans were never meant to be alone. We need each other. Sometimes I look at my life and wonder why there has been so much pain. Why do I exist? The one good thing I can see is that I genuinely care for others. Supporting and loving one another we can make it together.

What Is Wrong With Me?

I just don't understand what has happen to the "fighter" I used to be. Depression seems to be winning. Hopelessness is such a heavy burden to carry. I'm so sad and don't see it lifting. My daughter is hurting and I can't help her. That just make things ten times worst. I need to see some glimmer of hope soon. I just want to feel something besides this heavy weight.

Busy Day

I had a very busy day today with my ex-husband sister. We went to see a friend of hers that lives about 2.5 hours away. We visited for awhile then drove back home. We then had dinner together. I had to come home and do some laundry for my trip tomorrow. The house isn't as clean as I wish it was, but I don't think I'll have time to finish it before my friend gets here tomorrow, because I have an early appointment. My best friend is concerned that I have been spending so much time with my ex-sister-in-law, because my ex-husband was such a "sick puppy". He is currently in prison serving a 50 year sentence for child molestation. My best friend is concern since I had very little contact with my sister-in-law and she is giving information to her brother. I hope I'm not being gullible but she has done nothing but help me the last few months. You see best friend has seen me make a lot of mistake with people, because I always want to find some good in them, then I get hurt. I don't know, but I'm not going to worry too much about it. I think my sister in law just feeels a little guilty because no one was with me when my son died. I most likely won't be on line for the next week since I'm spending it with my friend out of town. Take care everyone and I'll be thinking of you.

Not Sure Where I'm At

Although I have been crying a lot today I'm not sure where my head is at. I read so many positive uplifting post today that I feel I should be filled with hope. I don't like being the way I am. I want to help others and be a bright spot in their day. I'm trying so hard to get better. It's so hard feeling that maybe this is as good as it gets. I just can't except that. I'm going for a little trip this weekend with a friend. I sometimes think getting away from here is the best medicine for me.Speaking of medicine my primary care doctor put me on a blood pressure pill today. I hate it! Another new medicine. I feel like I takes so many pills right now I rattle. See there is a little humor left in me.

Did anyone watch Dr Phil and Opra shows today? When Dr Phil was talking about young people committing suicide my heart was broken. I can not image the pain those families feel. The Opra show talk about DID and how severe trauma and sexual abuse can affect a person for a life time. Then I saw on the news about the protest at a young military mans funeral and was shocked that it was a church group. I just have to ask is that something Jesus would do? People need to be careful what they do in God's name. I guess I believe in love. Love heals not hate. I think to hurt someone during the most difficult time in their life (funeral of a child) is the most ungodly thing I have ever heard of. I not sure I want to watch anymore TV right now.

On a lighter note I hope all is well with everyone. Talk at you later.

A Little Better

My state of mind is in a little better place today. I think sometimes the psychiatrist ask too many questions and that causes me to be more depressed. If I could get a primary care doctor to treat the bipolar I don't think I would even see a psychiatrist. That not going to happen because my mental health history hasn't been that stable. I do think spending time at the SPAC helps. The animals are one of the few things that can make me forget for awhile. My sister-in-law and I are learning how to do the cat adoptions. I'm looking forward to that. I got really sick today from binging on chocolate yesterday. My stomach has finally settled down. At least I didn't gain any weight from my binging yesterday.

Death On My Mind

My blog is the only place I can say what I am really feeling. I have been trying to put up "a front" that everything is OK and I am getting better. Right now death is the only thing that seems to offer a hope of peace. I'm totally hopeless right now. I just can't see things ever being better. I saw my psychiatrist today and he increased my antidepressant. He also wants me to go to IOP (Intensive Out Patient Treatment). They meet daily. He feels I need more support than I am getting. I just don't know if it would do any good. I told him I was "safe" until I got some legal issues taken care of, because I won't leave a mess for my family. I know there are people that live with bipolar, PTSD, eating disorders, self harm, and grief and seem to have normal lives. What is wrong with me?? Why do I continue to sink into this sense of pure hopelessness? No matter how hard I try I just can not pull myself out of this. I hate being like this. I am trying, but it feels like I am just spinning my wheels.

I've Been Going 90 Miles Per Hour.

I have been going 90 miles per hour. My mind is really racing and I'm not sure it's going in the right direction. I way over did it yesterday physically and am really paying for it today. When I get this way I either go into a super cleaning mode or a super spending mode. Since there was no money to spend I over worked yesterday.I am in so much pain today I don't know which end is up. I should have known better, because I know my lab levels are really screwed up. My daughter assured me everything is OK with her boyfriend. I am glad for that. She is still feeling physical ill however. I encouraged her to seek medical help. I know I have been over cautious since the death of my son. He started out with a simple cough and ended up dying from pneumonia. I know I worry far too much, but so many bad things have happen I'm just keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am suppose to go with my ex- sister -in- law to a gospel musical and out to dinner tonight. I'm a little worried about going out to eat. I really hate eating in front of people and am concerned that I have gained 2 lbs.. I think the antidepressant they have me on is making me a little manic and has increased my appetite.I'll be sure to bring this up in our next session on Monday. Being a rapid cycling manic depressive makes it hard to control my medicine. I also think the medication I take for the auto immune disease interacts with my bipolar medications. I got a letter the other day form Blue Cross Blue Shield that they are dropping out of the Medicare Advantage Plan. I've talked with Medicare and they are not sure how many Advantage plans there are going to be. For the disabled this is really going to put a finical hardship on people. I was wondering if anyone else has hear anything about this. I just want to say how thankful I am for all the people in blog land that continue to give me support. You mean the world to me and I care for each and everyone of you.

My Loving Daughter

Please pray for my daughter she is very very depressed, I am also worried she is not in a safe situation. Also feel feer to visit and encourage her at http://alicescomplicatedlife.blogspot.com/

I Read Too Much About Death Today

Three blogs I have read today talked about death of a young person. It seems to me the enemy is working overtime to cause pain in people lives through the death of a love one. I don't understand why the young must die, before they even have a chance to experience life. I do know the pain in losing a child. I am trying so hard to make sense of these things. You see I have always believed God could and does heal. What I can not figure out is why sometimes He does not do this. The verse"All things work out for the good of them that love the Lord". I just don't see how there is any good in a premature death. I know God knows how I feel, but I have never come out and just asked Why? I don't think I will ever know. My heart breaks for the parents of these children. Maybe my faith should be stronger.I don't believe any "religion" has all the answer correct. I seen so much pain and abuse, suffered from mental illness, seen my children suffer from mental illness. Still I have to believe there is a God that loves us, because I believe He talks to me. I have been asked how I can even believe in God with all the bad things that have gone on in my life. It is a choice. I chose to believe there is more to life than just this world. I have been crying like a baby, because I know how hard it has been for me to hold on to this believe and know others that have been so badly hurt that they just can not believe. For those of you that have followed my blog for awhile know I struggle with suicide. self harm, eating disorder, and many other "mental health issues". I'm sure there are those that think I'm crazy as a loony, but I do know that what I have lived and felt gives me a deep feeling of love and concern for others.

Some Good And Some Bad

My eyes are improving everyday. I had the second surgery Tuesday and there has already been some improvement in my vision. My sister-in-law paid to fix the steps up to my mobile home because they were unsafe. I am very grateful for the help the church has given me when I could not see to drive. These are some things to be thankful for. Therapy on the other hand is not going that well. I'm trying. I really am. I try to think of the good things, but I still hurt so badly about losing Chris. I believe Jesus is telling me he is safe in His arms, but I miss him so much. I keep thinking I should be farther along than I am. My therapist therapist thinks I need more grief counseling, but I really can't afford it and I don't really think it will help. This is the hardest thing I have ever gone through in my life. The abuse was hard, but this has been worst. I want to stop crying and remember all the joy he brought to my life.

I Slipped Up

I did something I haven;t done in months. I went on an eating binge then purged. I have been restricting for a while, but I became so stressed over more bad news I just lost control. I feel so guilty and ashamed of myself. Today is a new day so I will try to do better. I have a early morning surgery on my right eye. I am waiting for my ride to the hospital.l right now it will go fine. My left eye is great and I;m already seeing better.

Maybe I'm Not That Bad

I beginning to believe (just a little bit) maybe who I am is not all that bad. I have always had so much self hatred. I was never good enough. I was too fat, too ugly, not smart enough, and not worth loving. I still struggle with these lies. These are messages from my past. It takes a long time to "unlearn" these messages. The voices can some times be so loud I want to hurt myself or just end it all. The real trick is to hold on, one day at at a time until I can learn the truth. I want to believe someday I will no longer be uncomfortable with who I am. Healing can be slow, but I do believe it is worth the work. I know there are some things that will never change. I will always be bipolar and may be always struggle with food issues. I will try each day to think something positive about myself. It is a path to healing that I must choose.

Physical Pain

I have been in a lot of physical pain today. My auto immune disease is in full flare right now. I hurt with every movement. In spite of the pain I have been very thankful for the help of people in my life. The days I couldn't drive I had a friend bring me a couple of meals. Little things can mean so much to you when you can't "take care of business." We all need others in our lives. Some times I feel so alone since I have no family in the state. I have been sleeping alot, but I guess I really needed that. I am so thankful for all the encouragement I get from my blogging friends. My best friend doesn't understand why I blog. She also thinks it is dangerous, but I think it is a "life line". Sharing our hopes and are struggles we are bounded together.

Boxed Emotions

For the past few days I have been unable to deal with a flood of emotions I have been having. So as in the past I have "boxed" them up in my mind and not dealing with anything. I am afraid I can not handle what I am feeling, so if they are boxed away I won't have to deal with it right now. It is so hard to do anything . I guess I'm lucky this happen right now after my eye surgery, because I am just not functioning. I am afraid to feel anything right now.

Follow Up Appointment

There is still one place in my eye that may need some laser treatment later on. The type of cataracts I have are more difficult to treat than the "normal" kind. My vision on the eye chart had already improved 1 line so he is very hopeful. I see him again to check that eye one more time before they schedule surgery on the right eye. All in all I think things went well. Seems like there are a lot of eye drops. but seeing is well worth taking. all the drops! I'm a bit worried that I seem hungry all the time. Maybe that will go away soon. My weight was up a little bit this morning so I guess I really have to watch what I eat today. Thank you for all remembering me. I hawe to admit sometimes I'm a chicken at heart.

One Down and One To Go

I just got home from surgery. The doctor said all went well. I'm am still a little groggy. Half of my face is still numb. I think I'm go rest for awhile. Maybe I can get some rest now that it is over for another week until I have the other eye done. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

What a Horrible Day!

Today has been horrible. I meet my new psychiatrist today and we had to go through all my history. He starting me on a new antidepressant, but said it could cause weight gain. I told him I would not take it if it does! He also started talking ECT. Again I said I will never do that again. The side effect were horrible. He kept asking me if I was "safe". I'm depressed. No I'm not going to be all cheerful in his office. Then he started talking about Chris' death. I lost it big time! Don't people get it? He was my son and I loved him with all my heart. Give me a break! He had read my chart before I saw him so he knew I was a basket case. He asked how my chronic pain played into my depression. When you hurt all the time you just aren't jumping with joy. "Do you have a gun in your house?" NO. Gee. Immediately after his appointment I saw my therapist. She told me to "watch it because I was getting too thin" Again since I was already crying she was "concerned" about my safety. Again we talked about Chris and how different my reaction was when I lost my mother. She reminded me that my mother was abusive and that I never really had a love bound with her. Talk about feeling like the scum of the earth. Everybody loves their mother. I guess I never got over some of the things she had done. She reminded me the only real love I have ever know in my life was my children. She also reminded me that the many times I had consider suicide the main reason I never killed myself was the love for my children. Yes I admit suicidal thoughts have been going through my mind the last few weeks, but I could NOT put Alice through losing her brother and mother all in the same year. Both my therapist and psychiatrist said they could understand why my faith in God was shaken, but admired me for still holding on. After crying for two hours in therapy, I had to go find out what time my surgery is tomorrow. I had to wait around that office for over an hour to get my eye marked and my surgery time. I guess I just tried to do too much in one day. My surgery time is 9:45 tomorrow please remember me and forgive me for all this ranting.

Confused

I really don't know what I'm feeling right now. Anxiety, confusion, and very unsure of myself. I see my new psychiatrist in about 2 hours and I'm not looking forward to that at all. I am really tired of being so messed up and just don't want to go through the whole thing again with another person. The depression has been bad. I try to act like I'm OK, because I think that is what is "expected" of me. Be strong. Be brave. I wonder if I'm getting better. I feel like I'm in a fog. I'm just stumbling through life right now. Maybe this guy will be OK. I have a hard time talking with men, so that's increaseing my anxiety. I'm letting him know up front I will never have ECT again, no matter how bad the depression is. I have to go to the eye doctor after the appointment to get the surgery time for tomorrow and my eye marked. Thank you all for being here with me. You have really help me and I do so appreciate it.

Touch

Touch and loving is something we all need. If we have been physically or sexually abuse as a child we don't know how to respond to touch. We don't know how to give love in this way. Our whole being cries out for it, but we are afraid of it. Trust is damaged. It can even effect our trust in a God who loves and cares for us. Each time we reach out there is fear. Will we be hurt again? I'm not "good enough" to deserve love of any kind. Damaged. I have noticed when someone wants to hug me I pull away. It is fear. Fear of being hurt again. We make it hard for people to get close. I know I'm working on this. I don't want to be afraid anymore. I want to be able to feel kindness and goodness. I want to know that I am OK.

Tried To Eat

I tried to eat some lunch today and it made me sick. It was shrimp and I was only able to take a couple of bites. What a waste of money $10 for two bites of shrimp and a diet coke. I thought if I ate something maybe I would feel better. Besides I was worried about having to weigh in at doctor's office Monday. I lost a few more pounds and I don't think he going to be too happy. Believe me I'm not skin and bones, but I have loss way too much weight too fast. You see once I started lossing I became obessed with it. You would think at my age I would know better. Controling my intake seemed like a better option than cutting myself, which I am really struggling with. I am so tired of being"sick". I just want to be normal and happy with who I am. I'm so tired of being depressed. It just sucks the life out of you. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
